Sorry for the delay

It's been a busy week! Maggie had a great "Happy Thanksgiving" as she calls it. We got to chill at home on Thursday with some friends. Friday, we had lunch with one part of the family and then Maggie and Daddy traveled to Georgia to see the other part of the family on Saturday. I stayed in Bham to visit more with my brother and his family which was nice. We only live about 2 hours apart but only get to see each other 2 or 3 times a year. I was a little freaked out to sleep alone in the house but I got through it. Sunday, I got a lot of house work done while waiting on them to get home. Maggie loves to travel around and see everybody.
It will be crazy from now until Christmas in our house. We have something scheduled every weekend!
In the car this morning, Maggie kept saying she wanted a little sister over and over. I said "what if God gave us a little brother?" and she said "fine!" We probably won't be having anymore kids but I do feel bad because she won't have a sibling.... She talks about it all the time. I have to think of it this way, if we didn't already have a dog, she would be asking to get a dog. I don't think it has anything to do with what she is asking for, it's just that she wants something and she is going to bug me to death about it. At least that eases my mind :-)
She also blurted out that she is going to write a book when she grows up. That is a odd thing for a 3 year old to say but who knows, she is pretty smart and I could see her being an author or artist... The way her mind works is pretty interesting. If she thinks about something, she says she is going to do it when she grows up.

It was a good weekend. Friday evening I went to see The Weaver's newest addition at the hospital. What a pretty baby! I know that's not the right thing to say for a boy but he was pretty... It gave me the fever just slightly but it sure was nice to hand him back. Of course Maggie is using this opportunity to say "I want a sister"...
Saturday was the big game that was fun to watch but depressing that Alabama lost even though it was not shocking. We watched it with some friends and then went home and got to bed failry early. Sunday was the baby shower for another friend that is having a baby. Wow! babies are everywhere. The shower was good because I got to see some old friends. Maggie and her Daddy went to the bowling alley with Trey and his Daddy. She must have had fun because she was still talking about it this morning.
This morning was a typical Monday. I forgot Maggie's blankets for nap time and had to tell her it was okay that she could borrow some from the school. She was not happy about it but agreed to get by until tomorrow.
Just a three day week! Jason has to work Friday but we are going to get our picture made Friday night. We have to figure out what is going on this weekend. I think we have double booked ourselves and have to figure out a plan that works for everybody. I'm sure it will be like this for the rest of the year with the Holidays!

The View from the Room

The Palace Hotel

I can't believe it's been 10 days since my last entry. We have been so busy with the trip and now work, I just now sat down at our computer. The trip to NYC was great. We stayed at the Palace Hotel on Madison Avenue so we were in the heart of Manhattan. Rockefeller Plaza was just two blocks away and St Patricks Cathedral was across the street. It was raining when we arrived Wed afternoon but we still got out and walked to Times Square. We ate some burgers and then went in the Gap. I found out that Britney Spears was in there the night before. Jason would have been excited to see her...
Thursday was an entire day of meetings for me but Jason walked around much of the city. In fact he walked over 150 blocks! Thursday night was dinner at The Rainbow Room which is a famous restaurant and dance hall at the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center/GE Building) We were on the 69th floor and could see the entire city. That was an amazing site. There also was a full moon, so that was pretty. We then went back to the room and watched some TV.
Friday was a free day for me, so we took the subway downtown. We spent 9 hours in Chinatown, Little Italy and SoHo. That was a great experience! We had some great food in Little Italy. We could not pronounce it but it was good. Then Friday night we walked to Times Square again and had some dinner. On the walk back we noticed something was going on in Rockefeller Plaza. That already have the skating rink up and running and the Christmas tree had arrived. Of course it has scaffolding all around it so they can decorate it but that was cool to see. Then we noticed that Christina Agulara (sp?) was singing on the ice rink while Sasha Cohen the ice skater was skating around. That was exciting!! We stayed around until she finished and then walked back to the hotel. We were exhausted! Saturday was more walking and then the trip home. Jason was excited that the car that came to take us to the airport was a Mercedes S55 AMG. I guess that is a nice car....
The trip was great but everytime I called my parents to check on Maggie, she wouldn't talk to us. I guess she was punishing us for leaving her but she had a great time. When her Grandmother told her we were coming home on Saturday, she screamed "I thought I was staying all week!" "I don't want to go home" That almost made me cry... I guess I'm lucky to have a child that doesn't scream and cry everytime I go out of town but it would be nice to have her talk to me on the phone. The business travel should be over for the year but I will probably be traveling more next year.
Maggie is doing well in school but she is in a stage at home where everytime she gets in trouble, she starts crying and yells "But I love youuuuu" like it's going to make everything okay. It drives me nuts but at least it's not "I hate you", yet.
I think we are going to enter her in a Miss Merry Christmas Pageant here in Helena. I said I would never do that but she looked so cute in her flower girl dress and really enjoyed walking down the aisle by herself so I thought it could be a confidence booster. She will never be a pageant girl but it doesn't hurt to let her be the center of attention every once in a while. Cause we all know she loves that!

The Wedding

It was a success! Everything went off well and Maggie actually walked down the aisle and stood there fairly quietly. Her "crown" of flowers did fall down around her neck and she asked the bridesmaid to fix it for her but other than that, she did great. She also had a blast. She thought it was her wedding.
I was also surprised she did well in the hotel room. She woke up one time asking for me but all I had to do was tell her I was there and she right back to sleep.
So the weekend was an overall success!

Halloween

Maggie had a blast! It was funny to watch go from the timid little girl to running to the houses saying Trick or Treat!! We went down several streets at Aunt Cheryl's neighborhood and then she was tired and she wanted to go home. My Mom is in Spain so we had picked up Paw Paw Jim and took him along with us. We were all pretty tired by the end of the night. Overall, she had a great day and got lots of candy. I had to throw away some candy to make room for the new stuff...
She is getting ready for the wedding this weekend. We are soooo busy over the next three weeks with the wedding, NYC and then a baby shower that I am hosting for a friend. Then it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas before you know it. That is so scary.
